Is it just me

or is just about every vegetarian blog out there trying to sell a cookbook?

I want recipes not a cookbook which may or may not fit my needs, I can't buy one and decide it isn't good enough, then buy another, and another.

An honest Question

What happens when there are no stores left?

and

What happens when the stock market gets to zero? Or will it just have to level off at some point?

Sorry not a positive post this time

Stocks
Our lifeline
We are selling all of our Stocks

The market is just falling falling falling
We have already lost so much and it keeps going down

So We are gonna sell now and -when- IF
the market starts going back up we will take what is left which we will have put into a savings acct
and repurchase.

Its sad that we have to do this.

I gotta keep reading the book too, I am quite far behind but I can do it still, it isn't too late to catch up.

Grand Opening

Last night was the grand opening of the store "River to Sea" which my friends opened up in Chandler's Warf. They were kind enough to ask me to put my jewelry in their store. I have already sold 2 things. This could be very good for me!!!
Anyway last night was so much fun! I became a "bartender" I served the wine. Which was awesome because I was starting to feel old, and so many people kept saying I looked too young to be handling alcohol. that made me happy!
They has snacks and wine and all the local artists. I miss my local artist friends, it is such a fun circuit of people who all know each other from the local trade shows. I love going to parties given by the local artists too. Its been a while, but maybe I can inject myself back into the scene.

I'm gonna do cards

I think I have figured out why I don't care for what hubby wrote so much.
I do like the fact that it makes me a 'real person' to people.
But to me it sounds like I am not a serious worker - most people don't think running a household is serious work.

I want whatever it says to portray a sense of commitment to creating my work.

Frustrated

I am stressing, I am sure more than I should be.

I have never set up in a store before.

I do have very limited space to work with.

My items are going in a glass case next to other people's jewelry. I am so self conscious that it isn't good enough. That it is flawed and looks bad.

I want to display them so they look good and stand out in a good way. I bought some real nice white standing necklace displays and some real nice flat ones.
I know I will use these. But my issue is the earring display. I don't want to copy what I have seen others do, but it looks so good. I do need to show my name and have them easy to put in a box when bought.
Putting them on cards and writing my name beside the earrings is what alot of jewelers do. It works well, but then I look like a copycat and I want to look different.
Maybe there is no way to look different and have it work well.
I am hesitant to use my little blue earring stands for 2 reasons, one is the store worker will have to transfer it to a card and then put it into a box. The other is my name is not 'all over the place' like I would like for it to be. Oh make that 3 - I have a few earrings which are larger than the stand.
I think the card is the only option.

As mentioned below I need some kind of written propaganda which is thorough yet informative about me, and only takes up a small space.
Tall order. This is why I am stressed.
I need all this done by tomorrow. The grande opening of the store is next Saturday the 14th.
Though the store is open now.

I am thinking of using these, my hand made dislays (painted a different color (most likely blue) but they are for my outside booth and thus a little rough around the edges. The clear one is what I am talking about, it is orange right now.

Writing and Jewelry

Today I took most of my jewelry downtown to a new store opening up called River to Sea.
My friends Rebecca Duffy Bush and her Husband Tim Bush are the owners of this gallery. They have put in pieces from my friend Amy Baxter, and Shandy Burls, and a few artists I have met in my past trade show ventures. They are the local artists which I have grown to love. I am so excited to be amongst such talented friends, these are the same people I would have called upon if I were able to open a gallery such as this.

Well it took me a long time getting my items put in their and priced properly.
I have never set up in a store atmosphere before.
I still need to take some display props in and written propaganda (ie, business cards and general info)

I made up cards explaining the benefits of Argentium silver.

But it is the ones explaining me I am having a hard time with.
People like to know 'something' about the artist they are buying from

I would write something like

'I am inspired by nature'
or something else just as flowery
like this....
(it is my "artist statement" from college)

"To me art is a process, not a destination. The inspiration for my work began with objects created by a variety of published artists" As I mature in this field, more and more of my work reflects my personal experience. I no longer must look for outside inspiration, rather the inspiration which comes from within, as a response to what I have already created.
My work is inspired by the natural world around me. I often turn to organic sculptural forms for my pieces. I find that the qualities of the metal inspire these forms in ways that no other material can. My art is seldom a preconsieved idea. The evolution of the object, as I work withit, is more exciting to me than knowing from beginning to end exactly what the final piece will look like."

I haven't even read that in years. After reading it I realize why I love enamel so much. I have to have preconcieved notions of how to put it all together, but the enamel itself is the surprise factor.

Anyway, my point here is I have limited space to work with - people don't want to read a paragraph while shopping. But I don't want to come across as cliché and flowery, yet keeping to technical is boring.

Here is what my hubby wrote.........

I created this this morning

This is exciting because we haven't seen snow in 5 years.

New selling venue?

I see in my project wonderful ads an ad for Art Fire
I have never heard of them before.
I am reluctant to go and move things from one place to another, I wish I had stats on this place, how well it does, before I try it.

I know I have tried Dawanda, and Ecrater - nothing special about either. so far etsy has been the best, but who knows maybe someone can one up them.

When Opportunity Comes a Knockin'

I went to story time at the library this morning. I am so glad I did. I ran into my friend who lives nearby and Whom I have often done craft shows right next to. She told me her Husband has been pestering her to call me, and she keeps forgetting, but anywho they are opening up a gallery in downtown Wilmington. They want my stuff in it! I am so excited! I just need to figure out what to take there and what to price it at. They do have a 35% commission - so I don't know how that is going to affect my prices. Grand opening is valentines day. I need to get to work!

I don't know how much is going to be left in my etsy shop after today, we will see.
