perhaps a premature post

Ah its just a thought anyway

I was just listening to the radio who said there are over 100 cases of confirmed Swine flu.
They did not mention how many deaths, which I thought was odd, so I googled the statistics, just the one mexican girl.

How much of a crisis would this be if it comes to over 3000 cases with 3 deaths. People wouldn't be nearly as frantic.

But then the government can't swoon in to rescue us all and have us confess our undying gratitude to them.

This is a perfect situation to begin implementing socialized medicine as well.

It would also be a perfect time to close the borders and quarantine any returning Americans.

Guess which will mostly likely happen.

This is the flu people, people do die of regular influenza yearly too.

It may get interesting or may be a story which dies out. we shall see.

I hope it dies out.

My idea

I don't know how plausible something like this is.
But the states were initially set up to keep the federal government at bay and allow the states to run themselves. One reason for this was so that a state could act as a guinea pig for the country to enact laws and such. If it was a good change then other states could adopt it, if it were a bad change the one state could dismiss it without affecting EVERYONE. For example a single state could try this socialized healthcare crap, see how terrible it would be and then ditch it without subjecting the whole nation to it where it would be very difficult to absolve.

Anyway back to my idea. (it may not even be a new idea, but I haven't seen anyone put anything on the table yet)

Texas has been mentioned in revolt ideas, due to its location and size.
Well how about texas shut down all welfare programs it possibly can at the state level. Make it harder to obtain welfare. The drudges would be forced to move to another 'friendlier' state. Leaving room for hard working americans to move in.
Close its own borders and handle it in a way that it sees fit. Succeed if necessary, but may not be. perhaps split into 4 states, quadrupling its representatives. and spread growth back out into society, by taking on beneficial practices of free market and such. Perhaps other states would take notice.
I hate to say it, but I am rather embarrassed, not to be an American, but to be one of many Americans who have been gullible enough to become ruled by the empirical government of America. We have become enslaved without even realizing how much. Roosevelt started it with his new deal and then each subsequent ruler has slowly expanded the governments reach into the daily lives of the citizens. Why are people upset now? Obama went too fast! People took notice because "change" happened too quickly. Clinton even warned him that he was moving too fast.

Just a quick question - Is it the role of the government to keep us safe from terrorists and those who would do us harm? Or to force us to wear seat belts?

At work yesterday, there was a bit of foot traffic. This lady came in and when she left I noticed she was carrying the same book I was sitting there reading.

She was a minority. Just goes to show you this movement is more than the "wealthy whatever"

This is an emai that is circulation, it sounds like a perfect solution to me!

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters,

We've stuck together since the late 1950s, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know that we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and just will not ever agree on what's right. So let's just end it right now while we can do it on friendly terms. We can smile, shake hands, chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and each go our own way.

So here's a model separation agreement.

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by land mass, each taking a portion. That's going to be the difficult part, but I'm sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy. Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate taste. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can have those. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. And since you hate guns and you hate war, we'll take the firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. But you are going to be responsible for finding a biodiesel vehicle big enough to haul them around.

We'll keep the capitalism, the greedy corporations, the pharmaceutical companies; we will keep Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have the homeless, the homeboys, the hippies and illegal aliens. We will keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, the greedy CEOS and all of the rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and we'll let you have NBC and Hollywood.

You can be nice to Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer anybody that threatens us. You can have the peaceniks and the war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we will provide them with security. You won't have to worry about it. We will keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley Maclaine. You can also have the UN, but we will no longer pay the bill.

We will keep the SUVs, the pickup trucks and the oversize luxury cars. You can have the compacts, the subcompacts and every Subaru station wagon you can find. You can give everybody healthcare, if you can find any practicing doctors. We will continue to believe that healthcare is a privilege and not a right. We will keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and the national anthem, and I am sure you will be happy to substitute in their place "Imagine." I'd like to teach the world to sing "Kumbaya" or "We are the world." We will practice trickle-down economics and you can give trickle-up poverty your best shot. And since it so offends you, we will keep our history, our name and our flag.

A real life example

I went to Wake Forest this past weekend, to visit my brother and sister in law and nephew for his birthday.
We were sitting around for breakfast yesterday morning discussing stuff going on around us. Tea Parties came up. They didn't know much about them, so we enlightened them. I had to thank them for giving us their hard earned money through the government. They said, huh? what do you mean? So I explained that due to our tax bracket we pay nothing in to the government besides medicare and social security, that in fact we get a rather large check from the government. Some call it a "refund" we call it welfare seeing as we didn't pay it in to begin with how can it be a "refund"?

Their eyes widened with a bit of anger, not toward us but toward the system. You see my SIL owns her own business - I have watched her work very hard to make it what it is today - which is fairly profitable. She started with nothing and is now doing well, and getting taxed hard for it! They pay lots of taxes while we are not as well off (due to our choices) and we get money. Where does our money come from? Other peoples taxes. Seems like wealth redistribution already.
So she says "why the hell am I working my butt off? when I can sit around and collect a check?"
Why would anyone want to work when they don't have to? The government will take care of them, but then the government's subjects are at the governments' beck and call, slaves if you will.
I had to add that I cannot simply deny the welfare money, I am forced to do my taxes, I am given a 'refund' as a result. I am not given the option of saying no thank you.

You might wonder why I am against socialism since I get paid for not working hard, well it is because I want a strong America to be the best it can be for my children!
Freedom is worth sacrifice, and I have ambition left in me, I have had my family and now I can go back to school or try to make it with my Jewelry, but why do it if it will take me nowhere and I can never excel because of where I live? And the government ruling over me?

Why have I not been trying to excel up until now, because I didn't have to, but does that make me feel complete - not really.


another thing from yesterdays conversation....

My SIL's business is in the medical field, she hires people to take care of the elderly.

She enlightened me on the union movement. Apparently the government is trying to make secret ballots to form unions no longer secret. Unions will scare you into joining, people don't want unions - but they do want their jobs and they want their families safe so if there is no secret vote, everyone will be forced to join.
Unions are bad. They hurt companies more than help the individual.

So anyway my SIL told all her employers that if a Union member approaches them to not give any info - they can infiltrate the companies by attaining just one person's name and moving to the other employees from there. She is shredding papers with employees last names on it, and making nametags with only first names on them.

She told them that if they get infiltrated that she will close the business just like that. She will not own a unionized business! All her employees will suddenly be jobless.

Ya know the majority of jobs in America are supplied by small businesses. So when the small businesses are forced to close down, jobs are lost.

Who is causing this? You already know the answer.

Faith and Conservatism

I talked about, in an earlier post, my non-understanding of why Conservatives (Republicans Specifically)have to equate Religion so strongly with their political views.
I now have my answer, though I, for my own personal preferences must elaborate on why I cannot accept it the way most must.

In reading Mark Levin's book "Liberty and Tyranny, A Conservative Manifesto", I now have a clear understanding on why it is very important to intertwine politics and faith.

The conservative is all about keeping the laws in order with the Constitution, and following the constitution as it was originally meant. (meaning don't alter what they wrote to what you want it to mean, a living language makes this possible)

The rights given to the individual are derived from the rights of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"
Unalienable rights given to them by their creator.

now to me "their creator" is something different than what they were referring to.
but the intent means all the same. I believe people have these rights as natural rights simply by existing.


Most people need to have the rules "promoting restraint, duty, and moral behavior," laid out for them, and religion is the best way to insure lawful consistent stability among the masses.

The founding fathers were of many different denominations and two of which were Deists (it is believed)
therefore the all signed into the constitution - freedom of religion
it just so happens that the dominant religion is Christianity

I just wish more people were open to the many beautiful varieties of being spiritual without judging and indoctrinating and converting others.
In my spiritual world I believe "natural law" still applies. (The athiest may or may not agree)

The problem with separating the spiritual and state is that it would lead to man "arbitrarily create his own morality and rights."
At that point what gives any individual over any other to say what is right and what is wrong. What is right for you may be wrong for me. Rights then become random and created by men imposed on men.

There in lies the problem, "created by men, imposed on men"
verses
born into it simply by your own creation, a given.
(everyone is created in some way or another, by who or what no one knows for sure, though most will say they do know.)

Perhaps how I have laid it out here doesn't make sense to others but it does to me, and in my blog that is what matters. :)

Why Hide?

Last night I was talking with my husband about me, us and our lifestyle. It was one of those fleeting conversations not one of those deep meaningful ones.
He just mentioned how much more independent I am now. I used to not want to go any where or do anything without him with me. Now I go dancing, and downtown by myself, ok ok with friends, but I am not tied to him. Lets face it someone has to be with the kids.
It is very liberating to be able to be this way. I think my need to separate from the kids a bit is the driving force and I am blessed enough to have a husband who realizes how much I need to get away.
Also I have become more of a thinker, not a bystander. I used to peruse through life not caring one way or another about things, now I do care, very much. I want to make a difference and make the world a better place for my kids (do you hear violins?)
And I am not afraid to say so!
I used to be terrified of running people off from me if they got into my head to understand what I am thinking, no more
I figure those who love me the most will always be with me! always! No matter what I say or what I do!
So lets go forth and have fun!!!

Don't Believe every sign you read.

Today is tea party day. I won't be going, but there is talk of counter protests against the tea party protests.
Imagine those signs - "tax me more" "more bailouts please"

Well it is rumored that they could possible pose as actual tea party protesters with their own signs, signs of violent sayings or what not, and I a quite sure if the media reports much at all (who knows what they will do with it, with all their bias) They will pick up on anything negative which occurs.

When you get people like this together who have such high emotions, well you never know where it might go.

I am getting a bit nervous about where things are headed. Things are likely to get ugly before better. Lets just hope not violent ugly, just politically ugly.

The dept of homeland security did write a report stating that anyone with conservative views opposing the views of the current administration are right wing Extremist. or Right wing terrorists.

The tea parties seem to be an enormous conservative demonstration against government spending. Many of the drivers mentioned in the key findings section of the report such as immigration, perceived economic hardship, and threats from other nations will undoubtedly be themes of the tea parties. Since there have been rumors that left wing activist organizations plan to infiltrate and attempt to disrupt and/or sabotage the tea parties. If there is a violent reaction to these disruptions, the report seems to provide a government platform for endorsing further adverse government action against people who attend and/or support the events."

conservatives and religion

I am quite getting tired of conservatives saying that it is a breakdown of the religious (christian) structure in America which has caused alot of our current problems. Seems to me if they were to embrace "atheists" (as the common blanket term) - maybe the movement could extend to a larger group of people. One can have conservative values and not be Christian!
Its OK for one to have that religious structure in their life, I would say most people need THAT sort of spirituality to feel whole, but many people have found their own spiritual path that isn't radical and isn't Christian and isn't Atheist.
There are so many beautiful ways to feel spiritual out there, I wish conservatives wouldn't alienate people who aren't Christian.

And I keep hearing this message over and over and over.

I think the term conservative is taking on a new meaning which should embrace a larger crowd. "The Republican Party" just has a nasty ring to it now. Religion for some reason has a strong resonance with the Republican party, I think that is a huge flaw with the party and turns many would be conservatives away.

Work

I went to work yesterday. I went to the gallery where my jewelry to learn how to handle the store so I can run it by myself today. It felt so good to actually get out and get paid to work.
I hope I can do this more often for them, but my schedule is difficult as far as having to get the kidlet from school and I have to work around my mom's schedule so she can take care of the younger kidlet for me.
But it works out for yesterday and today, good for Tim, he has to run his booth at a festival this weekend. which is good, more promotion. I have sold something each month, which is awesome - movie money! Like we go, right.

I feel it

I no longer feel anger, no instead I feel hope! I feel love swelling. Love for my country, I want my children to grow up in the same wonderful place I did, and not the place this country is becoming. My love is for what my country used to stand for. And as an American citizen it is my duty to stand up for her! I will do whatever I can, whenever I can to help out the movement back towards freedom.

All the churches seem to be preaching that the End of Times prophecy is coming true and PresBo is leading the way to that end. Now I am not religious, but I find this disturbing. I would like for someone to ease my nerves on that one. And we need to fight to turn it away from looking like that.
