Don't Believe every sign you read.

Today is tea party day. I won't be going, but there is talk of counter protests against the tea party protests.
Imagine those signs - "tax me more" "more bailouts please"

Well it is rumored that they could possible pose as actual tea party protesters with their own signs, signs of violent sayings or what not, and I a quite sure if the media reports much at all (who knows what they will do with it, with all their bias) They will pick up on anything negative which occurs.

When you get people like this together who have such high emotions, well you never know where it might go.

I am getting a bit nervous about where things are headed. Things are likely to get ugly before better. Lets just hope not violent ugly, just politically ugly.

The dept of homeland security did write a report stating that anyone with conservative views opposing the views of the current administration are right wing Extremist. or Right wing terrorists.

I just found this commentary which strikes a cord ......

"The timing of the report is somewhat troubling as well. Given it was released on Apr. 7, within a week of the tax day tea parties. The tea parties seem to be an enormous conservative demonstration against government spending. Many of the drivers mentioned in the key findings section of the report such as immigration, perceived economic hardship, and threats from other nations will undoubtedly be themes of the tea parties. Since there have been rumors that left wing activist organizations plan to infiltrate and attempt to disrupt and/or sabotage the tea parties. If there is a violent reaction to these disruptions, the report seems to provide a government platform for endorsing further adverse government action against people who attend and/or support the events."

conservatives and religion

I am quite getting tired of conservatives saying that it is a breakdown of the religious (christian) structure in America which has caused alot of our current problems. Seems to me if they were to embrace "atheists" (as the common blanket term) - maybe the movement could extend to a larger group of people. One can have conservative values and not be Christian!
Its OK for one to have that religious structure in their life, I would say most people need THAT sort of spirituality to feel whole, but many people have found their own spiritual path that isn't radical and isn't Christian and isn't Atheist.
There are so many beautiful ways to feel spiritual out there, I wish conservatives wouldn't alienate people who aren't Christian.

And I keep hearing this message over and over and over.

I think the term conservative is taking on a new meaning which should embrace a larger crowd. "The Republican Party" just has a nasty ring to it now. Religion for some reason has a strong resonance with the Republican party, I think that is a huge flaw with the party and turns many would be conservatives away.

Work

I went to work yesterday. I went to the gallery where my jewelry to learn how to handle the store so I can run it by myself today. It felt so good to actually get out and get paid to work.
I hope I can do this more often for them, but my schedule is difficult as far as having to get the kidlet from school and I have to work around my mom's schedule so she can take care of the younger kidlet for me.
But it works out for yesterday and today, good for Tim, he has to run his booth at a festival this weekend. which is good, more promotion. I have sold something each month, which is awesome - movie money! Like we go, right.

I feel it

I no longer feel anger, no instead I feel hope! I feel love swelling. Love for my country, I want my children to grow up in the same wonderful place I did, and not the place this country is becoming. My love is for what my country used to stand for. And as an American citizen it is my duty to stand up for her! I will do whatever I can, whenever I can to help out the movement back towards freedom.

All the churches seem to be preaching that the End of Times prophecy is coming true and PresBo is leading the way to that end. Now I am not religious, but I find this disturbing. I would like for someone to ease my nerves on that one. And we need to fight to turn it away from looking like that.
I read the prophecy, its a bit creepy.

a job?

I have been neglecting my blog, well I have been neglecting alot of things. I feel almost depressed alot of the time, but I will roll with it.

I may have a bit of a job.

The gallery downtown, ya know the one my jewelry is in, well they may want me to work some. I am excited about this. It will be nice to get out of the house and have a few extra bucks to go out with.
(I tend to spend more than I can afford when I go out)

I have to ask myself if Americans are really free? My answer is no, true freedom doesn't exist.

We took the boys to the pediatrician for their well visits 6 months ago.

We have been getting a bill for $120 for a while now,

I have been pestering hubby to call the insurance company and the ped. office to get this 'taken care of'

See we have been charged for a "developmental screening", which is just a piece of paper with questions asking can your child do this, or this, or this.

Our insurance company paid this previously, then the time before this they did not, but the office took the charges off, because they could, we figured it was just something extra to charge the insurance company for more money. They said some insurances paid it, but ours didn't but don't worry about it.

Well this past time, hubby called several times, the insurance company said to take it up with the doctors office, the doctors office said take it up with the insurance company. and when they weren't saying that they were saying "its mandatory" - that is all we got.

Now this sheet of paper the doctor barely glanced at, because our kids are awesome. So I figured no services rendered.

I also figured we should be able to deny services which we do not want or are not covered. Free market right, bah

We waltzed our hineys up to the doctors office, note in hand saying we were going to pay but then switch doctors. Free market choosing doctors, right? nope

Instead of going up to the desk and dealing with inept receptionists, we pulled up and Dr. X was getting something out of the trunk of his car.

Now Dr. X is the most awesome doctor and person ever! We did not want to leave his practice. His older daughter is one month older than my oldest and his younger is one month older than my youngest. He 'gets' us. We click!

This 'test' is mandatory for those with BCBS - out of state. ours it BCBS of Alabama
Now this mandatory test isn't covered, but still required BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY - for all pediatricians


Our freedom of choice is gone! freedom to choose weather we want the screening or not, and the freedom to choose docs. over it, because they all have to do it.

We can afford this, but it would have been so nice to get the heads up. No one seemed to be able to explain it to us.

I really respect our pediatrician, and he said that many ped. offices are talking of dropping this insurance company.
Which I guess serves the insurance company right.
He did ask us if we would write a letter to the insurance company with our grievance over this policy, but I don't exactly know who to or what to even say. Lowes is the one who chooses the insurance company.
I think letting Lowes know how dissatisfied we are with the insurance company is the better route.

Any way during our conversation guess what got brought up....
Obama
yup I have yet to meet a doctor who is happy with the direction things are about to go. (I have now discussed it personally with 3 I think)
He said this is what is going to happen.....

BTW Right now he would not turn ANYONE away if they could just pay $1 a month he would take care of them.

But as soon as the damned government forces the docs to see anyone and everyone they will have double the amount of people in the waiting room, taking up more time and the doctor will get paid less.
Not everyone gets the health care they need, because the demand for free health care will be virtually infinite. But the dollars available to be spent will be limited.

I am just miffed and didn't know where else to go


Oh and Dr. X wouldn't take our check we practically forced it into his hand like 3 times.
I would almost be willing to ask him to keep seeing my kids and us pay him under the table when the time comes that private doctor patient transactions become illegal. He likes us enough he might would go along with it.


I am saddened to have brought children to inherit this place, maybe they can fix it.
There are "tea parties" popping up all over the place, I wanna go, maybe I can. Their is one here on Thursday.

I haven't posted in a bit, so I must now
hubby has been off work for a week now, and older son out of school for spring break for a week and a half now.
This interupts my routines.
My workout routine has been erratic, but not gone completely.
My work routine really hasn't been established yet. I plan on working for a couple of hours at least 3 days a week. (this will eat into my workout routine, but that is ok)
I can't really get into my daily routine (how many more times am I gonna say the word routine) until it settles back to a normal hubby at work, child at school, and other child actually napping.

I got out to the studio day before yesterday. I got quite a bit accomplished, a bee made, a seahorse made, a dragonfly cleaned and ready, and a butterfly made. I took these four and one other piece into the store.
one of my bees has been sold but not picked up yet.
This is so exciting for me, I can't wait to see how it goes when the weather cooperates with the tourists plans.

I had sworn to never make a seahorse again, but decided to anyway, it wasn't as difficult as I remember. I really like the design, so I will post a pic. (not the best pic) It is not the actual piece I made but it looks almost exactly the same.



In other news, argentium. That is what I am making all my pendants out of now. I do love how it looks as a finished piece. so very shiny. I love how it solders. I did try to fuse it and I don't quite have that technique down yet.
but yeah, argentium = two thumbs up

Pay Day

I got my first "paycheck"
It wasn't much, but considering how very cold it has been this February, I am quite happy!
The foot traffic in the store will pick up considerably with warm weather, considering it is in the very touristy area by the river.
Hubby was even impressed.
I can't wait to see how things turn out.
I gotta get crackin' though.

Here is How this will work

I will work in my studio making stock for a full month, then after getting paid from sales at the store I will take my new stuff in and put it on display, swapping out with older items if need be.

But before it goes to the store it will go on etsy, so cyber space will have approximately one month to view my items before They are gone to the land of the living.

So if someone sees something on my site that they want, They better snatch it up!

A beautiful day!

Wow, today was gorgeous!
I decided to do a spring cleaning on my studio. It looks fab!
I am gonna start working, huh what? working? YES WORKING in my studio during my younger son's naps. That is 3 hours of work time 5 days a week. (unless hubby is home then I may take time off, I make my own hours).
I am so excited about being able to get back to it.
They are having a market in town soon which I think it will be worth my while to do, but I need to get crackin on some inventory, I stocked the store with my better items.

I do however wish the state of the economy was better.
I did want to keep anything political out, but seeing as I want to work hard and earn a living without any kind of government paycheck or welfare, I will undoubtedly blurb political stuff.
My "job" and my friends "jobs" are entertwined with how poorly the US is being run now.

I am still happy, my studio is sparkly and calling for me to create! I must answer that call.
I hope to really soon see how my jewelry has done in my friend's store so far. Waiting patiently for a check.
I will start "working" next week.
I will update on how well it goes.
